100 word fiction: Glass painting

She always wanted to design the interiors of her house. And so she made sure that she got all the right furniture, showpieces and more. Playing with different colours came to her quite naturally and she wanted to give the house a bright outlook.

Once she was done, she began thinking about the windows. While glass painting had been a hobby, she hadn’t done it in more than a decade. But her husband encouraged her saying that there was no better time to revisit it again.

And so she got to work. Within days, her labour of love was ready.

With hot winds, high humidity and temperatures touching 50 degree celsius, it surely takes a lot getting used to.

But then, there was a time when we could easily travel to places where summers are seasons to look forward to.

Whether its Marbella or Paris, Amsterdam or Bremen, summer in Europe is characterised by sunny skies with specks of clouds, people sun-bathing at the beaches of Marbella or taking a boat ride through the canals of Amsterdam.

Our sense of smell is as important as our other senses of tasting, hearing, seeing and feeling. It exposes us to fragrances of different kinds as well as odours which are not so pleasant. Every house and individual around the world has a distinctive odour.
