Disparage

Disparage

As he remembered the smell of the earth after the first rain of the season, he couldn’t help but visualize the tranquil surroundings. They would always sit in the balcony sipping tea and chatting about the day gone by. It had been six years since she was gone but he still missed her deeply.

He was tired of his relatives foisting their thoughts on him about a second marriage. He felt that they were trying to disparage his feelings for his long lost love.

Tranquility

Tranquility

Tranquility is

the new luxury though one

shouldn’t be lonely too

Tranquility is

all I need for keeping my

dignity always

Tranquility is

a choice but one needs to be

chary of strangers

Tranquility is

bliss when one can even hear

the howl of the wind

We all have our favourite places where we feel that sense of relaxation and peace which we long for especially to escape our busy day-to-day lives.

Photography: Relaxation

Don’t we always long to escape from all the pollution and excessive traffic?

Photography: Relaxation

Don’t we dream of breathing fresh air and getting a chance to introspect especially in a quiet surrounding?

Don’t we dream of the days when we don’t have to actually breathe carbon monoxide and all the other noxious gases out there?

“Though we may have made more money had we stayed somewhere else, I love the natural beauty this country offers.”

A few years back, they had shifted to the small nation of about a million people. While she took some time to settle down, he was enamoured by the peace and tranquillity all around him.

100 word fiction: The swamp

By the river

It was a gloomy day with ominous clouds lining up the horizon as far as the eyes could see. But the cool breeze and the tranquil surroundings around Lake Manny were enough for the Smith’s to plan a family’s day out.

Good food, swimming, games with the kids and more importantly, a nice little walk on the banks of the lake, this was the perfect way to relax. But the animals in the swamp had other plans up their sleeve.

Before the parents could even realize, the kids had disappeared. It seemed as though the swamp had gobbled them up.

Moscow Diaries: A walk at the Gorky park

Gorky Central Park of Culture and Leisure (Центральный парк культуры и отдыха имени Горького) is one of Moscow’s Central parks located next to the Moskva river and spans an area of about 300 acres. It’s the perfect place to see the way Russians spend their free time. The park gets its name from the famous Soviet writer, Maxim Gorky.

While at an earlier point of time, the park had various rides including roller-coasters, today it is more of an eco-friendly park which also has an ice-skating rink and wi-fi.

I had come to the park with the intention of taking the Radisson Cruise on the tranquil waters of the Moskva river. Since I missed it by a few minutes, I decided to take a walk along the river itself. And mind you, while it does look sunny, the temperatures were still hovering around -5 degrees.

With all the snow round, Gorky Park looked really beautiful.

“I love these calm and tranquil surroundings.”

Though, Anna and Ron had married a few months ago in a lavish ceremony, they hadn’t been able to spend much time together due to their busy schedules at work. And so when they did get a break, they were quick to plan a trip to the nearby archipelago.

Talking sweet nothings, walking hand in hand near the shore, having candle light dinners and more – they rekindled their love story.

“Are you in for some boating?” Hearing her reply in the affirmative, he took her hand in his and helped her get seated.

“The cool and calm waters are surrounded by the greenery as far as my eyes can see. Add to this, the white sands all around us. Is this paradise?” Neha exclaimed in delight.

Tired of struggling day in and day out at work, Seema and Neha, the awesome twosome as they were known among their friends circle had made a sudden plan to visit the Sister Islands located half an hour from the mainland.

The island seemed so peaceful and tranquil that the sound of the waves hitting the rocks was more delightful than anything they had heard in months.
