Incoming cyclone

Incoming cyclone

As the cyclone barrelled towards the city, the clouds started to show their true colours. The summer had already begun in full force with the heat giving the feeling of great balls of fire.

But the cyclone bought a sea change in the weather turning the sky from a few white clouds to almost black with dark grey clouds.

With a lot happening in the upper atmosphere, the city beneath looked so beautiful amidst the lovely breeze and the droplets falling on the leaves.

Incoming cyclone

Though it did cause damage with broken trees and other infrastructure including flying objects like bottles.

Gardening

Gardening

What began by planning the garden’s design,

moved on to the selection of the plants based on the soil type,

They were then gently placed next to each other,

labelled correctly and watered in the right amounts,

And voila, that’s how he started gardening.

“It’s such a pleasure living in a house where everyone takes care of the plants as if their life depends on it. Though we are nothing more than a showpiece sitting in this bowl, we are given water and nutrients on a daily basis.”

“I completely agree. This is surely so much better than where I lived previously. My caretaker rarely watered me so much so that I had lost all my energy and was quite literally on the verge of death.”

The two leaves were lost in thoughts of their own as the time for some food was nigh.

100 word story – The Golden Flowers

Flowers with Ice

Flowers with Ice

PHOTO PROMPT – Copyright Janet Webb

She had met him for the first time when he was in his garden. He loved nurturing his plants with utmost care and concern as if they were his children. She always saw him spend a couple of hours each day watering and tending to them. That garden was where they spoke sweet-nothings, laughed, cried, argued, made-up and lived a life over a couple of years. As she sat by the window reminiscing the times they had spent, her eyes wandered to the plant which they had planted together. Its flowers had turned golden and were now covered with ice.
