Curiosity

Curiosity

As they lay watching

the stars, they felt pure bliss not

having to stress out

But in the dead of

night, a shape-shifter had

other plans up its sleeve

While they got curious,

it went berserk posing a danger

to anything in its path

Incoming cyclone

Incoming cyclone

As the cyclone barrelled towards the city, the clouds started to show their true colours. The summer had already begun in full force with the heat giving the feeling of great balls of fire.

But the cyclone bought a sea change in the weather turning the sky from a few white clouds to almost black with dark grey clouds.

Incoming cyclone

With a lot happening in the upper atmosphere, the city beneath looked so beautiful amidst the lovely breeze and the droplets falling on the leaves.

Incoming cyclone

Though it did cause damage with broken trees and other infrastructure including flying objects like bottles.

Spring’s arrival

Spring's arrival

Spring arrived with mud and a torrent of bad news.

They planned the expedition but unfortunately the weather ended up being a bummer. Considering his dexterity when it came to all things travel, he had organized everything in advance.

He also made sure to convince his best buddies who lived at the front and back of his house along with the solitudinarian. After the great winter freeze, the snow did melt away before spring arrived. But their trip just froze away instead becoming a fodder for so many around them.

Zenith of Disaster

Zenith of Disaster

May didn’t augur well for him. While he was sure that his family was careful, he knew that the precautions followed by those who came home had gone wayward off late. Within days, the covid fatalities rose and as he lay in bed, his thoughts were interrupted as an auger was used to put his wife’s frame on the wall. He laid a lei on her grave next morning wondering how the pandemic had broken their union.

Disparage

Disparage

As he remembered the smell of the earth after the first rain of the season, he couldn’t help but visualize the tranquil surroundings. They would always sit in the balcony sipping tea and chatting about the day gone by. It had been six years since she was gone but he still missed her deeply.

He was tired of his relatives foisting their thoughts on him about a second marriage. He felt that they were trying to disparage his feelings for his long lost love.

Nifty Nemesis

Nifty Nemesis

He had accepted the fact that his nemesis was quite nifty and been able to prove that his work was junk enough to show that it was finally the time for a change at the top.

Myriad of Possibilities

Myriad of Possibilities

Her life gave the impression that it was a myriad of possibilities as she kept flitting from one place to another. She never liked staying put in one job or location. And being a travel blogger, allowed her to live that dream. But little did she know that the path to the house through the forests would haunt her in her dreams.

Myriad of Possibilities

Solitary

Solitary

Being the solitary one left near the neighbourhood after the week long tree-cutting drive, it felt lost. The city had burgeoned so much so that whatever was left of the greenery was being cut to make way for the giant new apartment complexes. Amidst all this, the tree felt like a lamb to the slaughter. Seeing the apartment complexes on one side and the solitary tree on the other was like seeing opposite worlds.

Behemoth

Behemoth

While he did seem like a beast,

a behemoth, he

was nothing but genial

much to her pleasure.

Being a bookworm,

she had her private space but

she had allowed him.

Ashamed

Ashamed

Dominic bowed his head to hide his face. He felt ashamed of steps he took despite attempts to proclaim new beginnings.

When asked to save, he decided to spend. While others called him shallow due to his love for money, he considered it a deep paradox that having so much he couldn’t spend.

Eventually, it was too late as his temerity gave way to his shady dealings which marked his end.
