Elder’s vision

Elder's vision

Being the patriarch of the the largest clan in the town, he didn’t feel that it would beseem him to live life in utmost luxury when the others around were suffering. He knew that sometimes the authorities from the city visited them and that was when he had to voice out his vision for the people in his town.

While the vision may seem radically different from his predecessor, he knew that over some coffee and freshly made eggs, he could convince the powers that be about his plans.

Tranquility

Tranquility

Tranquility is

the new luxury though one

shouldn’t be lonely too

Tranquility is

all I need for keeping my

dignity always

Tranquility is

a choice but one needs to be

chary of strangers

Tranquility is

bliss when one can even hear

the howl of the wind

And so, when it came to her birthday, her friends thought of nothing but the best. The view from the restaurant down to the valley below was majestic. It felt as though the clouds had come down. The lighting was just right and the tables had been separated far apart so as to give everyone their space.

This was the perfect atmosphere to have a nice meal amidst the clinking of glasses of wine and cutlery.

While they were far apart in terms of distance with both of them engrossed in studies on different continents separated by thousands of kilometers, their love was the one common thing which made their world go round. From WhatsApp chats to Skype calls, they always kept each other updated on their lives and everything which came with it be it happiness or despair.

This went on for a few years until he popped the question silently smiling to himself expecting her to say yes almost immediately. Both of them were now working and making their way up the career ladder slowly but surely. She was shocked and blatantly refused exclaiming that this was the time when she wanted to concentrate on her career and couldn’t think of anything else. While he was devastated, he was half expecting it considering their conversations had dramatically reduced since quite a while.
