Wordless Wednesday: Cloudy Kuwait

Wordless Wednesday: Cloudy Kuwait

This pic is from the unprecedented rainy months last winter in Kuwait. It rained like there was no tomorrow.

While many rain records were broken, a lot of us who are used to 50 degree summers surely weren’t complaining as cool and cloudy days greeted us day in and day out. These were moments to cherish.

Thursday Tree Love: St James Park London

St James Park London

For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.

Thursday Tree Love – Greenery at the Königsallee

Greenery at the Königsallee

Königsallee in Dusseldorf with its extensive list of fashion stores and retail chains is one of the most upscale districts in Europe. It has a canal running through its center with a lot many trees on either side.

This pic was taken in the Summer of 2018 when the drought in Europe was still at its peak. So you can imagine even after that, how green this place looks.

Life by the window seat

Life by the window seat

Sometimes it makes you lose yourself amidst the clouds.

Sometimes it takes you to lush green fields and valleys.

Sometimes it takes you to mountains far and beyond.

Sometimes it gives you a sneak peak of the coastline.

Sometimes you experience the day and a lot of light all around while at other times its the night and only the loneliness and the darkness that sticks around with you.

Sometimes you see the snowy winter while at others times you feel the hot summer or the monsoons.

Sometimes it takes you to a world you have only dreamt of.

Sometimes it makes you forget your emotions and brings a smile on your face.

Sometimes it makes you think of your troubles and brings a tear to your eyes.

Life by the window seat is sure to give you all these experiences and more.

Microblog Mondays: A visit to the Lucknow Gomti Riverfront

Lucknow Gomti Riverfront

These days it’s becoming really difficult to find lush green spaces amidst most overpopulated Indian cities. More and more youngsters of today are spending their time with their gadgets rather than coming out and taking a walk in fresh air. As various kinds of health problems like heart diseases, hypertension, obesity etc. mount, it’s becoming more important than ever to go out for walks if heading to the gym is not your cup of tea.

Lucknow Gomti Riverfront

And that’s where something like the Lucknow Gomti Riverfront comes in. Constantly ranked among the most polluted cities on the planet, Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh in India has been in desperate need for green spaces. And looks like finally a start has been made. This 1500 crore project has involved cleaning up the Gomti river which flows through the city along with ensuring that more than 30 or so nullahs are cleaned and the sewage is not dumped into the river.

100 word fiction: Road trip of a lifetime..

The lovely roads go on and on..

The lovely roads go on and on..

The sun was streaming through the tall pine trees lined up along the highway. It was still an hour to dusk but the temperature had already dropped a notch or two.

The three had planned such a road trip for months on end without any success. While two of them were busy in their 9 to 5 corporate lives, it was left to the one who travelled for a living to come up with a plan which made sense.

He knew that a road trip on the US East Coast surely had the makings of a trip of a lifetime.

Singapore Diaries: A visit to the Macritchie Reservoir

Welcome to the Macritchie Reservoir

Welcome to the Macritchie Reservoir

I have always heard people crib about the fact that Singapore doesn’t have anything natural to offer when it comes to tourism. Ironically, as of 2005, Singapore has about 2000 hectares of park area which is equal to about 70 km. But then, Singapore isn’t generally promoted as a destination for eco-tourism simply because the authorities believe that they can offer much more to the tourist in other areas like shopping, man-made attractions and more.
