Whenever he saw his friends with their respective girlfriends, all he could do was curse his luck. Despite the looks to die for and the intelligence anyone dreams off, he had always met women who were chasing his money.

And then, he found her. Her ethereal beauty was enough to swipe him off his feet.

Whose a ‘good girl’ after all?

Whose a good girl after all?

Whose a good girl after all?

Each of us has a definition for how a good girl should be. Some say that a good girl is one who respects elders. Some say that a good girl is disciplined in her habits in the sense that she doesn’t smoke, drink, do drugs and the likes. Some say that a good girl knows how to cook and do the household work at home and keep others happy. Some say that a good girl is one who can do professional work as well as household work successfully.

But then who decides the definition of a good girl? Is there someone who has the final authority on that? The answer is a big NO. Such definitions are nothing but our view of how a girl, daughter, wife, sister, mother should be. But who are we to decide what constitutes being a ‘good girl’? Secondly, is there really something like a ‘good girl’ or a ‘good boy’?

Pre-Marital Sex: To be or not to be?

Pre-Marital Sex: Yes or No?

Pre-Marital Sex: Yes or No?

Pre-marital sex is a word which can’t be uttered in many countries for fear of the so called moral brigade. It’s a term which has always been associated with religion, culture, regions, caste, creed and the likes. While people of some religions and regions allow it, there are many countries and many religions which consider it as a sin. But whatever be the case, people are slowly but surely starting to be more open about it.

Our traditional Indian family values which are embedded into our system from the time we are small children are based on the fact that when we marry someone, we should marry him or her for the whole life (or for 7 births as they used to say). We should consider everything from the nature of our partner to the social well-being of the family before making our decision. And then once the decision is made, we should stand by it till the time we are not in this world.

She had always heard that meeting and bidding goodbye to anyone was part and parcel of life. But she could have never imagined that she would have to bid goodbye to the person she loved the most in this world.

Though she knew that they would meet again sooner rather than later, the fact that there was no precise date or month on the horizon was what made her feel really uneasy.

“Why do you have to leave me and go all the time?”

As they hugged and parted, tears rolled down her eyes while he looked the other way to keep a check on his emotions.

“If we don’t run away tomorrow, my father will get me married to someone else.”

She dreaded the thought of losing him while he didn’t feel it right to marry without parental consent despite their immense love for each other.

They had tried convincing each other’s parents for more than a year without success and so the craziness of it all had made him promise her that they would catch the 10am train the next day and leave the town forever.

But try as he might, he couldn’t bring himself to terms with eloping.

She waited at the station for hours on end but he never came.

Lost and Confused Signpost
Source: http://www.workplaceconfidence.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/confusion-that-costs-money.jpg

Her parents had always decided everything for her from the time she was born. From the food she ate to the people she met to the college she went to, her family had a say in almost every decision of her life.

Though she did talk about her likes and dislikes, she believed that parents always decide the best for their children until she had to make the decisions on her career and marriage.

“Having always lived my life on my parents terms, do I really know what I want to do five or ten years from now?” This question was eating her up from the insides for many months.

Eyes meet.

Hands are held.

Hugs and little sweet kisses are given.

Sparks fly all around!

But does silence play a part? Was there a time when you met your loved one that you just wanted everything to stay calm and quiet? Was there a time when you met your loved one that you just wanted to lose yourself into her without speaking a word? Was there a time when you met your loved one that you just wanted to hold her close to you and simply feel the moment without uttering any needless sentences?

Guest Post – Romantic Fantasy Writing: How to get started?

Writing a novel involves weaving a story out of many details and pieces of information. However, it’s important to remember that with novel writing as well as weaving, the quality of the finished product depends entirely on the quality of content that goes into weaving it. If you prepare properly, provide adequate details and specifics and invest yourself into the art of creating the story; when it’s finished, it should all flow well and fit together beautifully. Romantic fantasy novels have gained popularity over the past few years. While romantic fantasy authors must follow the same guidelines as authors of historical romance or suspense novels, there are a few additional tips that they can benefit from.

Innocence lost in translation!

She was sweet and cute. She seemed happy all the time. It’s always said that kids have a smiling face and bring cheer to everyone around them. Since the time she was a little girl, she kept everyone occupied. Whether it was her parents or her cousins, everyone laughed and enjoyed being around with her.

Sometimes she went and cut the curtains with a pair of scissors or at other times she hid the shoes of people just so that they go about frantically searching for them. Naughtiness and her went hand in hand. Though it was a task for everyone to handle her naughty antics, they still loved to see the smile on her cute little face. It was like everyone wanted to do something just to see her happy.
