“If we don’t run away tomorrow, my father will get me married to someone else.”
She dreaded the thought of losing him while he didn’t feel it right to marry without parental consent despite their immense love for each other.
They had tried convincing each other’s parents for more than a year without success and so the craziness of it all had made him promise her that they would catch the 10am train the next day and leave the town forever.
But try as he might, he couldn’t bring himself to terms with eloping.
She waited at the station for hours on end but he never came.
