Dear Zindagi (Life),

You have quite literally been a bed of roses till date. Everyone has his or her share of horror stories and troubles which shape their childhood and thinking. But in my case, it has almost been as perfect as it gets. While I know that it may not always be the case, I truly appreciate what all you have given me.

Once the right values and beliefs were inculcated in me, I was always encouraged to chart my own course in my career. There was never any force or coercion to do things to please others or live life on other’s terms. And the best part was the fact that my loved ones supported me all the way in any decision that I took. They have always believed that one can discuss anything with multiple people but the final decision should rest with the individual. And they taught me the same.

“Don’t we all count on beautiful memories when in times of distress?” Rahul and I were arguing on being too over dependent on memories for anything and everything in life.

Whether its getting a job or a date; winning a contest or enjoying with friends, memories of all kinds shape our world almost all the time.

They give us the motivation and encouragement on being able to turn around things for the better. What we need is to strive to work even harder to create even sweeter memories for the future.

Guest Post: Around The World in Just A Day or Two!

No, it’s not really about Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare or any reference to any form of communication on the Internet or movies for that matter.

I love to travel. Looking at the list of countries I have visited, I’m quite proud to say that I’ve been to Thailand, Indonesia, China, Australia, Cambodia, Turkey, Italy, and France. I am 25 and recently got married and moved from Malaysia to the United Kingdom. Of course, I don’t intend to end that list just yet!

I was enjoying a nice long bath not too long ago, and this triggered the thought of my friends back in Malaysia. Don’t get me wrong – we don’t share baths! But the nice warm feeling reminded me of the common poolside area we have in the condominium where I used to stay. That was where we neighbours usually met, gathered with friends, ate and bantered about life. That made me suddenly realize that I probably know more about the rest of the world than without realizing it!
