He stood there looking at their photos in remembrance of the times they spent together. While she was a scalawag of some sort, their friendship hit it off.

Though they did have their fights and arguments where she ended up with a moue of disdain, they laughed it off together at the end of the day.

“You deserve this for all what you have done to me.” And he walked off leaving him bleeding on the road.

While they were the best of friends since childhood, Bobby was way ahead of Ronnie at every step in life be it at work, in making women fall in love with him or making lots of money. Though he was slowly but surely burning with jealous rage, Ronnie held on in the hope of guarding his friendship.

But when Bobby tried to woo Ronnie’s girlfriend, something snapped and Ronnie knew that the time had come to get back.

A visit to the island..

“The cool and calm waters are surrounded by the greenery as far as my eyes can see. Add to this, the white sands all around us. Is this paradise?” Neha exclaimed in delight.

Tired of struggling day in and day out at work, Seema and Neha, the awesome twosome as they were known among their friends circle had made a sudden plan to visit the Sister Islands located half an hour from the mainland.

The island seemed so peaceful and tranquil that the sound of the waves hitting the rocks was more delightful than anything they had heard in months.

Friendship – Does gender really matter?

Friends with the opposite gender.. Is it possible?

Friends with the opposite gender.. Is it possible?

Source: http://www.yourengagement101.com/daily-101/files/2009/04/just_friends.jpg?w=300

From the time we are small, our friends and Bollywood movies all around us teach us that a girl and a boy can never be friends. A lot of parents feel that mixing with the opposite gender can lead to their children losing their way in their studies. And therefore, many prefer their children going to an only-boys or an only-girls school. They feel that with the absence of the opposite gender, their children’s minds wouldn’t wander and they would concentrate completely on their studies. Is that really the case?

Interestingly, from what I have heard from friends who have studied in only-boys schools, their minds wander a lot more into useless activities in classrooms and beyond compared to those who studied in co-ed institutions. The main reason for this is the fact that guys try to be at their best behavior when in the company of the opposite gender.

Five Sentence Fiction: Forgotten

Forgotten..

Forgotten..

“Don’t you even remember me?”

It had been more than 3 years since the best of friends had passed out from college with promises of staying in touch in the years ahead.

As the years went by, everyone got busy in their lives and the promises remained just that – ‘promises’.

The memories had come flooding back after his phone call today. Those were the memories that had been forgotten over time.

The day he lied to me..

The day he lied..

The day he lied..

“He is a liar. He doesn’t even care what I feel. If he did, he would have had the guts to tell me the truth. All the times we spent talking sweet nothings for hours on end seem like a big joke.”

The first time our eyes met was when he trooped in coolly at 8:45am for an 8 am class. With unkempt hour and a shabby appearance overall, it looked as though he had just got up from sleep and set out for a long day ahead. He seemed too much into himself making me wonder if arrogance was his second name. For me though, classes were all about talking to everyone and making as many friends as possible.

The girl at the bus stop

Her dark kohl-lined eyes always seemed to radiate a warm glow which made me go weak in the knees. Her hair was a shade of dark brown which partly covered her face owing to the breeze. As she tried to part it away with her hand, my heart skipped a beat. With full lips and a well toned body, she looked like a dream. Was I dreaming? Was she for real? Her radiant smile would have been enough to make the world happy. If she would have been sad, the world would have shared her sorrow.

I made it a point to cross that road each and every day at the same time while coming back from work. Whether it was western or Indian formals, she was always elegantly dressed. Her sense of style, be it the attire or the matching minimal jewellery was brilliant.

The guy who didn’t bother to remember..!

He was the dude of the college. Whether it was his looks or the way he spoke to women; whether it was his personality or the aura he exhibited, there was something about him which attracted women of all kinds. There were hundreds who tried for just one chance to get to talk to him. There were others who wanted to spend some time with him over
coffee. And there were some who even went to the extent of wanting to touch him just to know if he was for real. It wasn’t always like this.

He had come as a shy and introvert guy who never even spoke to women let alone befriend them or have a girlfriend. His life revolved around studies, classes, assignments and the likes. But when he faced rejection for the first time in life, he realized that he had not bothered about creating a personality. He didn’t have a sense of style or a persona that people craved for. He didn’t know how to talk properly to anyone let alone his classmates. And so he revamped himself completely so much so that the girls began to go weak in their knees waiting to see him everyday.

Deserted at the altar..

Source: http://ctboom.com/wp-content/uploads/left-at-the-altar.jpg

Since the time a girl is small, she dreams about her wedding day. I always expected my man to come on a horse as my knight in shining armour and take me away into his world bringing me all the happiness and peace. Though that was a bit too much to expect, I still wanted to be loved, to be happy and to have someone in my life who could pamper my wants and desires.

We had met in the most bizarre of circumstances on a flight to Lucknow. He was traveling for a business meeting while I was on my regular job as a Lead Flight Attendant. Somehow we began talking, exchanged numbers and the rest is history. Though our jobs didn’t allow us to meet that often, we always made it a point to stay in touch in any way possible; sometimes through ‘Whatsapp’ and other times through ‘Skype. In just over a year, we had grown so fond of each other that all our talks revolved around love, life, ‘how I would settle with his family’ and the likes. Though it seemed a tad too fast, I was loving every bit of it. He truly loved and pampered me unlike the earlier guys in my life who were either too scared to commit or just didn’t want things to go to the next step.
