Starting a garden..

Starting a garden..

Catrin Welz-Stein

Time was nigh as far

as her plan of starting a

garden was concerned

She didn’t deviate from

her plan one bit despite the

proffer of a team

She made sure to clam

up the others saying that

it was in her mind

Once the idea

germinated in her brain,

they met as agreed

Spring season

Those incessant sounds of birds all round

pale in front of anything else

flowers that are still to bloom

might overcome turmoil

still with a smile and

have set aside

time in which

to make

fruit

He made them proud..

He made them proud..

He had only seen poverty. While his father was a daily wage labourer, his mother worked from house to house washing dishes. But despite their struggles, they tried to ensure that they could educate him so that he had a better life. They always felt that – In their dreams they sleep with the moon.

As luck would have it, their son got a scholarship. Post his education, within the first year of joining an MNC, he made sure that his parents were out of the misery they had lived in. He had made them proud after all. While others did a lot of yada, yada, yada about taking care of parents, he made sure he actually did.

When he was a child he couldn’t ever dream of having a debit card. But now he was making sure that anyone could access the banking system.

Hues of autumn

Token

Original Poem

Fall had begun to

set in as the leaves turned red

yellow or orange

The berry picking

season was at its end with

just a token left

My revision

With the beginning

of autumn, nature displayed

its various hues

Berry season was

almost over except for the

few remaining behind

Me, Myself & I

Me, Myself & I

While I listen to

everyone, I make sure

that none bully me

I have the courage

to start over again despite

all the lampooning

I have a weakness

for jaunting through crowds as well

lounging on the beach

I make sure that none

of my relationships are

fake in any way

Eavesdropping

Eavesdropping

Having noted her existence,

they planned to make their presence felt,

They tried to pry all her online activities,

without much success since she was miles ahead,

She already knew that eavesdropping was pointless,

and would simply lead to nothing but a dead end

Politics

Politics

While his campaign had

been flagging since a while,

he never held back

Though it may have seemed

odd to others, he did all

he possibly could

Despite garnering

respect, his politics didn’t

find many takers

Classed amongst the rest

angered him so much so that

he just huffed aloud

Cycling

Cycling

She had turned wheatish

as she loved to cycle all

the time in the sun

Her cat went along

by her side wherever she

took her bicycle

But this time she ended

up in a place where pets were

being refused entry

Alone at the beach

Alone at the beach

Looking towards the horizon

with the sun setting in the background,

and hearing the sound of the waves hitting the shore

with him lying lazily on the beach,

he knew that he was a beach bum at heart

and could spend days alone there.
