Incoming cyclone

As the cyclone barrelled towards the city, the clouds started to show their true colours. The summer had already begun in full force with the heat giving the feeling of great balls of fire.

But the cyclone bought a sea change in the weather turning the sky from a few white clouds to almost black with dark grey clouds.

With a lot happening in the upper atmosphere, the city beneath looked so beautiful amidst the lovely breeze and the droplets falling on the leaves.

Though it did cause damage with broken trees and other infrastructure including flying objects like bottles.

“You’ve got the moxie to flock to a crowded market in a city you’ve no idea about. Being how whimsical you are, sometimes I wonder if you would disappear without telling me only to reappear later.”

Ronald and Rochelle had travelled to South East Asia for a trip of a lifetime. While they commonly shared the love for travel, the differences began thereafter. While Ronald liked holidays to be laidback and loved staying away from crowds, Rochelle liked to explore as much as she could.

For her travelling and exploring was like a contest which she always needed to win.

They sat on their chairs wondering how it had all become s0 vacant.

“Previously, we used to have so many customers that we didn’t have enough staff to meet their needs. But all that feels so far away. Despite our scrupulous attention to detail when it comes to sanitation, the numbers haven’t increased.”

Existential Crisis

As another day came to an end with a beautiful sunset looking over the sea, they knew that the pandemic had turned their life upside down.

Existential Crisis

In times of lockdowns, their home far away seemed like quite a lonely place to be in.

100 word fiction: Going towards emptiness

100 word fiction: Going towards emptiness

With her camera in tow, she was ready to go out to photograph how deserted the city became every night. As she stepped out of her house, it was already late afternoon.

The seeds which she had sowed quite a while back had given way to a small plant with many flowers.

While nature was going on as per its usual course, all the markets, roads, restaurants and more came to a standstill every night as a lockdown had been enforced.

Being the journalist she was, it was her job to photograph the emptiness all around. It was quite bizarre.

Myriad of Possibilities

Myriad of Possibilities

Her life gave the impression that it was a myriad of possibilities as she kept flitting from one place to another. She never liked staying put in one job or location. And being a travel blogger, allowed her to live that dream. But little did she know that the path to the house through the forests would haunt her in her dreams.
