Paradox of our times

  1. Beautifully said.

  2. I often think about all the training that leads up to this one event. Some wins and losses but, I think none are loser as they all made the cut.

    • transitionofthoughts

Oh yes, the hard work which goes behind all the years of training is priceless. While winning always gives a fantastic feeling, there are winners and losers. But am sure, representing one’s country on the World stage has got to be up there as one of the best things to happen.

  3. Yes this is very true. Poignant lines. 🙂

  4. I admire each and every one of them, and your poem too.

  5. Beverly Crawford

Your poem speaks well for the young athletes who earn their way to the Olympics. Bravo

  6. Yes and isn’t it uplifting to watch as they show us the very best of themselves … the effort it took to reach the Olympic stage.

    • transitionofthoughts

That’s the beauty of sport and also the pride of representing ones nation on the world’s biggest stage :).

  7. I imagine the level of dedication required really is extraordinary.

    • transitionofthoughts

Oh definitely. I cannot even begin to imagine that myself.

  8. I think you hit the nail on the head with the title and last line. It really is their life….then judged only by a brief moment in time.

  9. You summed it up so nicely in just few words. Good one!

  10. How very true, you have summed up their lives in such few words

  11. Madhu Bindra

Short but you have described it so well. Sometimes you don’t need to many words to get the point across.

  12. Short and succinct. And packs a punch. People are quick to “cancel” those who do not win medals without taking into account the hard work that goes in just to participate.

  13. Perfectly penned… loved it

  14. Sweat and blood of a sportsperson trickled down in your words. Well written!

  15. Wonderfully said in a just a few words.

  16. Passion, Toil, Dedication! 3 words yet making so much meaning. Loved reading this! Short yet awe-inspiring!

  17. I agree with you. Life of an olympian revolves around the points you have mentioned. Great observation.

  18. Wow well said! Loved the way of describing the hard work of olympians in short and crisp way.

  19. Its sheer dedication of these sportsmen help them achieve their goals. You have wonderfully expressed it through words.
