First day of summer

First day of summer

It had been a long hard winter with coronavirus wreaking havoc day after day. It was heartbreaking to see people struggling for their lives as the medical community began to buckle under the constant stream of patients. The dark clouds of uncertainty hung over everyone’s life.

But the vaccinations provided a silver lining amidst these dark clouds. And as the first day of summer began, these vaccinations were speeding ahead and began to show that there was light at the end of the tunnel. As the sun shone bright, the brightness in people’s lives also began to take shape.

Dark night sky

Dark night sky

The dark night sky

so many stars wherever you see

peace and quiet around,

a time to reflect

So many stars wherever you see

that light up the night sky

in all its glory

Peace and quiet around

with miles and miles of desert

without a single soul around

A time to reflect

and introspect for everything

that has been and always will be

100 word fiction: In the woods

In the woods

Sam suggested that his cabin would be the perfect getaway for some fun times with friends. As the day wore on, the clouds looked ominous.

In the woods

They all had their share of fun and just when they were ready to call it a night, they heard a loud bang outside. Almost immediately, the doors and windows swung open. The moon was shining bright and the wind was howling. Suddenly and without warning, Sam was pulled away into the darkness.

And then he woke up with a start. He was sweating and breathing heavily. He was relieved to find himself in bed

Journey of life

Journey of life

The train chugged along

identical tracks, but the

surroundings kept changing

The journey of life

and death is the same for all

but people encountered are different

The day she was waiting for..

The day she was waiting for..

She was waiting for

this day but now that it was

here, she got nervous

This wedding was what

she had always wanted and

her parents agreed

Though it went well,

she became teary eyed leaving home

and had to avoid smudging her makeup

Drive to succeed

Drive to succeed

His drive to succeed kept him going as an immigrant. Having a mortgage, he worked doubly hard to repay. Despite rejections, he kept trying to forget and move on.

His family sacrificed a lot and he knew that one mistake could end it all in a snap. The pile of challenges kept growing but he wasn’t deterred. He never stooped to unethical methods.

Sitting in the park, he remembered the day he became a citizen. It felt the galaxy had come together to help realize his dream. His felicity had no limits.

“Oh, that’s one interesting looking structure.” Ron looked ahead pointing at the orange shaped building.

“Ahh, don’t you know the new attraction in town?” Matt seemed surprised.

“What’s that all about?”

“It’s a three story restaurant which serves some really authentic drinks and dishes which have been selling like hot cakes. They also provide the option of sitting in your car and ordering food which is then brought by rollerskating waitresses.”

With its unique design and importance to personalized customer service like no other, this restaurant had carved a niche for itself. They started trends which others tried to copy.
