As the clock ticked by,
the virus returned in a
lethal avatar
Note: For those who thought that they had defeated COVID and it was all a thing of the past, unfortunately with the 2nd / 3rd / 4th waves, the virus has reminded all of us that we are mere mortals.

we are indeed, altho I try to never lose sight of that!

I guess the virus has taught all of us that even for those who didn’t really bother too much.

It sucks to be in this position. Extremely demoralizing. As docs working in the ICU, I really did see the numbers reduce in March but now it’s back to full capacity.

I cannot even begin to imagine the pressure you and the other docs must be going through. I am sure it would feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. I really wish despite the fatigue setting in, people actually bothered to follow the health protocols and guidelines.

I understand that people are frustrated and want things to go back to “normal” (whatever that is), but I believe in a “better safe than sorry” approach. People learned nothing from the 1918 influenza pandemic. The COVID-19 virus can be expected to behave similarly.

Unfortunately even today after a year post the pandemic, there are people who still don’t respect the health guidelines and social distancing protocols. If there’s one thing the virus has taught us, it’s the fact that you can never say never.

Le sigh. Sorry if this is a duplicate comment. I hate WordPress and it hates me.

Hey its fine :D. I got your earlier comment. Thanks for stopping by :).

It seems to me these 3rd and 4th waves are being caused by a lack of patience from people, and politicians desperate to open up economies too quickly, before vaccination is widespread enough. It’s hard to see a way out at the moment.

Oh yes, I guess it was a little too much too soon. There was a race between vaccinations and variants and unfortunately at the moment the variants are winning. Looks like we are all in this for quite some more time to come :(. Alas!

I have been reading up and things are extreme out there! May there be relief from the pandemic for all of us.

Fingers crossed. Hopefully this too shall pass!
