100 word fiction: Ladder

“Hey, you there?” He had been knocking on her window for a while.

“What are you doing here? My parents could be here any minute.” She was shocked seeing him.

“I wanted to thank you.”

“For what?”

“For your lovely smile when you looked at me through the rear view mirror of your car. That was what I needed on my way to the interview.”

“You need to get going or we will be caught.”

And suddenly, he felt that he was gliding in the air only to fall on the ground with a thud as the ladder gave way.
