100 word fiction: Thoughts


“That was the trip of a lifetime. We walked hand in hand like a lovestruck couple. We kissed under the Eiffel and had a lovely candle light dinner on the Seine Cruise.”

As she left the house for possibly the last time, she threw the iconic photograph which reminded them of their past. Theirs was a whirlwind romance as they met on a flight where she was the senior flight purser.

Within weeks, they were dating. Their relationship was doomed from the start as she dreamed of soaring in the skies while he expected her to be by his side.

  1. Perhaps not so much doomed as brief

      True that. I guess too much happened too soon. Really difficult to digest for the people involved.

    Some might consider it perfect.

      I guess yeah it was fun and amazing till it lasted. That way there were no complaints whatsoever :).

  3. Doesn’t sound as though there are too many regrets here. Sounds like they both knew what they wanted, and are determined not to compromise.

  4. Oops, I moved on too soon after posting my comment. They sound as though they both knew what they wanted. Compromise wasn’t on the agenda.

      I guess both of them had their own lives and careers in mind more than anything else. And something had got to give.

  5. Short and sweet romance. Doesn’t sound like they were made for each other on a long term basis.

      Yeah it was a lot of fun till it lasted. Short and sweet is the what one would surely call it.

      I wish so too. But I guess it was fun till it lasted and then things went awry. Maybe both weren’t ready to compromise.

    Thats the sad part when clashes happening any relationship. I wished they could have found a mid-way out.

  11. And so it goes. A whirlwind affair that lasted its course. Not such a bad thing.

  12. There’s a lot of energy expended in the beginning of a romance. I hope it was worth the brevity of the relationship!

      I guess they had the fun when they could. But then reality set in.

      I guess they had whatever fun they could and then reality just set in when they realized there was no compromise possible from either of them.
