While the Eiffel Tower definitely looks imposing in the day, the lights make its look majestic under the night sky. It is definitely the symbol of Paris.

Wordless Wednesday: Cloudy Kuwait

Wordless Wednesday: Cloudy Kuwait

This pic is from the unprecedented rainy months last winter in Kuwait. It rained like there was no tomorrow.

While many rain records were broken, a lot of us who are used to 50 degree summers surely weren’t complaining as cool and cloudy days greeted us day in and day out. These were moments to cherish.

100 word fiction: Her specs

Her specs

“I feel as though I have got a new life with these specs post my surgery. There was a time when I struggled to open my eyes under normal light. My eyes watered excessively due to the dryness in the atmosphere.”

Despite having a caring family and achieving a lot in her career, Sarah seemed perennially unhappy. Her eye condition had deteriorated so much so that it had started affecting her daily life.

The ophthalmologist suggested that an urgent surgery was the only option followed by getting the right kind of specs. And the rest as they say is history.

Thursday Tree Love: St James Park London

St James Park London

For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.

100 word fiction: Her new glasses

Her new glasses

“I have been looking for a good pair of glasses since a long time. The last pair I had was my favourite. But when it accidently broke apart due to my carelessness, I was devastated.”

Anita had high myopia and needed the right kind of glasses to achieve her dream of becoming a pilot.

During childhood, she had suffered a lot from dryness of the eyes. This affected her mentally and psychologically during her school and university days. But as the years passed by, she was all the more determined.

“Let me take a selfie to see how I look.”

Life’s lessons after undergoing a surgery

Life's lessons after undergoing surgery

Why do you need to go to the hospital?

Can’t you manage your condition through some home remedies rather than taking medication?

Are you sure the doctor you are going to is good enough?

These are some of the questions one gets from friends and family members for any visit to a hospital. A lot many get nervous hearing or even thinking about doctors or hospitals for that matter. Whether its the equipment or the smell, the environment or seeing other patients, we all tend to get nervous to a certain degree.

But what if one requires a surgery? That is sure to open an altogether new set of questions amongst family and friends.

Is the surgery necessary?

What is the recovery time?

Is the surgeon recommended by anyone else?

Can the surgery be delayed?

I recently did undergo a minor surgery. But this post is not about the specifics of the surgery in particular. But instead, its about the after effects of staying for a night in a hospital as well as the anaesthesia which got me thinking much more than I ever have in years.

Guest Post: Iceland National Parks and Wildlife Tours

What are the attractions in Iceland and which ones are important? Do I abide by specific rules while I’m exploring the surroundings? Why are the national parks here so popular?

If you’re thinking of visiting Iceland, these are some questions that’ll pop up in your mind after you find out more about it. But what if there’s a single answer to all these questions?

As you go through this post, you’ll find out everything you must know for your visit to the majestic island of Iceland.

It is undeniable that most of the Icelandic landscape is untouched and beautiful to behold. With time as a constraint, however, you may not be able to discover all of these landscapes. To make your trip fun and joyous, all around Iceland you’ll find different tours to ensure you enjoy every bit of the stay.

The Icelandic people take pride in their countryside, and for a good reason. There are not many places around the world with such immense natural surroundings.
What’s special about the National Parks in Iceland?

As mentioned earlier, the island is beautiful to witness, and the national parks are a sight to behold. Until 2008, Iceland was home to four stunning national parks. Later on two of them were combined to form a much bigger national park turning the number of such parks to 3. Several tours allow one to enjoy these utterly picturesque and natural reserves of Iceland.

1. Snaefellsjokull National Park

Snaefellsjokull National Park

Covering an area of 66 square miles, this National Park is located on the Snaefellsnes Peninsula in western Iceland. The center of attraction here is the 700,000-year-old stratovolcano, which is covered with ice. The tourists can visit the volcano’s summit during summer along with several archaeological ruins and modern-day fishing villages nearby. Another unique thing about this park is perhaps that it is the only one with a coastline, making it the sole such park that is inhabited by several bird species.
