Flying over the calm blue waters of the Aegean Sea minutes before landing
The ‘Eleftherios Venizelos’ Airport also known as the Athens International Airport is the main international gateway to the historical city of Athens.

On arrival, we were greeted to a calm clear winter day
Though the Greek economy has plummeted quite dramatically over the last few years, the increase in the number of passengers at the airport (~20 million) has coincided with more than 25 million tourists visiting Greece in 2016. This makes it one of them most visited destinations in Europe.

The British Airways Boeing had just landed as well
And why wouldn’t it be. From Mykonos to Thessaloniki; from Athens to Santorini, Greece has history, natural beauty including the sun and the sea, party life and much more to offer to all kinds of tourists.
The first thing that strikes you while landing into Athens is the stunning beauty all around. The greenish brown mountains provide a picture of contrast to the clear waters of the Aegean Sea.
I am participating in the A To Z Challenge for the second time this year and I am penning travelogues.
