A380: The queen of the skies

Dubai is something of a maximum city. With the tallest buildings, the longest bridges and tunnels, the highest restaurants, the glitziest malls and more, it has created quite a name for itself across the planet.

And so how can its airport stay behind? The world’s 3rd business by passenger traffic, 6th busiest by cargo traffic and the busiest operating both wide-body jets courtesy the flagship Emirates airline (B777s & A380s), Dubai International Airport is bursting at its seams. It’s like almost everyone on the planet arrives in Dubai more often than not either on transit or for business and / or pleasure.

And now with the construction of the Dubai World Central, the race to the top of being the busiest airport in the world is only going to get more competitive than ever before.

I leave you with the timelapse video during my landing on-board Emirates flight (EK-854) from Kuwait to Dubai.

I am participating in the A To Z Challenge for the second time this year and I am penning travelogues.

  1. I was there during childhood days. And what

  2. My initial childhood days were day. And what a city. The most happening city in GCC. These days I drop into the airport for transit to Doha, I literally run the whole airport because almost every time I get the farthest gate possible.

  3. It’s one of the best airports i have been too – everything is opulent

  4. Informative post , now you have made my travel wish list longer 🙂

  5. Dubai airport is world busiest airport really, maybe because of trade and tourism
