As someone had rightly said, the best way to experience any city is by walking through the streets and taking in the sights and sounds all around. While on the first morning, I had asked my colleague to pick me up from the hotel, I decided that from the evening onwards, I would make the 20 minute journey on foot between Правды ул (Pravdy Street) and Лесная ул (Lesnaya street) where my hotel was located.
My colleagues were kind enough to point out the locations on the map. Before you ask, yes the map was in Russian but the route was fairly straightforward and I decided to take a chance. I must say the experience was lovely as I got the opportunity to learn the art of walking in snow without slipping and also took in the fresh air, sounds and smells of the city. Obviously I had to wear multiple layers to beat the -10 degree cold.
With offices of Deloitte, PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) among others located in the vicinity, the hotel is part of one of Moscow’s Central Business Districts. The Belorussky Rail Terminal from which trains depart daily to Belarus and Western Europe along with the Belorusskaya Metro Station are all a short walk away.
