6 years of college life – A life well lived!

Going for long walks with your girlfriend or best friends, going to movies after bunking classes, coming late to hostel, fighting with the warden, sleeping while the faculty is telling the most important of things, ogling at all the possible girls in your own as well as the junior batch, coming late to class so frequently that the day you come early, the faculty is shocked out of his / her daylights – College life is about all this and more.

Since the time one is a young guy, he / she hates to go to school everyday. Obviously it involves getting up early, sitting in class and studying and then coming back. The evenings would usually be filled with tuition’s of all kinds. Such a dull and dreary life, isn’t it? Obviously many like me did like it a lot.

But then college is a different prospect altogether. This is the place where you live for a number of years on end. This is the place where you meet everyone from whichever godforsaken place in the country. This is the place where you become a man / woman from a boy / girl. This is the place where you make or break your careers. This is the place where you learn the different colours of life. College life moulds you as a human being.

But then this is also the place where you get those life changing friends, girlfriends, boyfriends whatever. It is always said that friends you make at college are ones who you would remember for life and how true it is. Whether it is about ogling at each and every girl, about having a strong emotional connect with people, about wearing the best and smartest clothes on campus just to impress that one girl or even gossiping the night before every exam on the weirdest of topics, this is why everyone says ‘I am gonna miss my college days’.

College life is also the time when you move away from the cocoons your parents have created. Over the years parents protect their children from all the harm that can befell them. But college life makes a person strong. It makes a person do all the basic duties of life which he / she may have expected a servant to do when they were at home. College life makes a person street smart so that he / she can overcome the difficulties and challenges of life.

I can go on and on during what I have learnt in my stint at college life! But would just like to say to all the prospective college joinees ‘These are the best years of your life. Live it to the fullest as you can’t get this time back again EVER!”
