The darkest day of her life…

Sexual Assault: Darkest day of her life

That had to be the darkest day of her life.

That was the day when she was told that she needed to dress in a certain way to protect herself.

That was the day when she felt naked despite being fully clothed.

That was the day when she saw a mob of hungry men on the prowl for their prey.

That was the day when she saw people recording videos of assaults rather than helping the victims.

That was the day when she wished every mother had taught her son to respect women.

That was the day when she realized that we have regressed as a society.

When she inflicted pain for love..

Love turned sour..

Love turned sour..

While they were far apart in terms of distance with both of them engrossed in studies on different continents separated by thousands of kilometers, their love was the one common thing which made their world go round. From WhatsApp chats to Skype calls, they always kept each other updated on their lives and everything which came with it be it happiness or despair.

This went on for a few years until he popped the question silently smiling to himself expecting her to say yes almost immediately. Both of them were now working and making their way up the career ladder slowly but surely. She was shocked and blatantly refused exclaiming that this was the time when she wanted to concentrate on her career and couldn’t think of anything else. While he was devastated, he was half expecting it considering their conversations had dramatically reduced since quite a while.

“She is a lovely child. It’s so painful to even imagine that parents can treat their children in such a gruesome manner.”

Mohita’s smile and cheerfulness hid the pain and torture she had gone through during her childhood. From the time she was 4, her father’s advances towards her were full of perversion and voyeuristic pleasure. As the years went by, they soon evolved into full blown sexual assaults.

She never got to go to school or play with kids of her age. It was only when she escaped after a decade that she got to know about the world outside.

“You deserve to die a painful death for the torture and pain you have inflicted upon my family.”

And then he stabbed him multiple times with the razor sharp knife he had bought specially for the occasion. His revenge was finally complete.

Anger

Anger

“Those who get angry are the ones who love you the most.” She had always heard this advice from her loved ones. But there was only so much that she could bear.

The marks on her body and soul were a true reflection of the torture and pain he had inflicted upon her. From failed business deals to fights between friends; from knowing about her numerous guy friends to her frequent refusal for sex, she ended up bearing the brunt of his anger.

What started off as a match made in heaven truly ended as a match made in hell.

The pain of losing someone..

Have you ever lost someone?

Have you ever lost someone?

Source: http://www.theafterloss.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Benjamin-July-18-greatest-pain.jpg

All of us have an expiry date (the date we would die). There’s no one who can expect to live forever. If there was a possibility, how many of you would want to live forever?

But this expiry date is not something any of us actually know. At least among us Indians, as soon as we reach the wrong side of 50 many start thinking as if our time on Earth is nearing its end. Interestingly, on the other side of the spectrum, I have seen men and women at the age of 70+ in countries like Germany, UK etc. fit and fine to even go on tourist visits all alone without their kids.

 PHOTO PROMPT- © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields

As she looked out of the window, she dreamed of a day when she would be free from the pain he had inflicted upon her for years.

When children feel scared, they run to their parents for support and care. But what if parents themselves are the source of fear? Anna’s father had tortured her sexually and psychologically for years on end after her mother had passed away in tragic circumstances.

If that wasn’t enough, he also hit her whenever he could, made her do all the household chores and locked her up within the four walls of the house.

She was lonely..

She was lonely..

She had vowed never again to allow a man to even touch her.

She had vowed never again to be exploited in the name of love.

She had vowed never again to fall in love.

She had vowed never again to allow a man to rule her thoughts and dreams.

She had vowed never again to befriend any man.

She had vowed never again to come back to the city which had given her only sorrow.

From now on, she had vowed to fight back if anyone even dared to ruffle her. This was the beginning of a new phase.

“Help! Help! Someone please help us.” His cries rang loud and clear in the stillness of the night.

He and his friend had been brutally tortured for more than an hour and then thrown onto the road to face death.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, a good samaritan stopped his car and agreed to take them to hospital. He ensured that they were taken to a well equipped hospital and given the best medical care available.

By the time the two regained proper consciousness, their families had reached the hospital. But the stranger was nowhere to be found.

Her parents searched in every nook and corner asking all around without luck.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, her body was recovered.

She had been mercilessly raped and beaten to death.
