Transition of Thoughts

Weaving thoughts into words

Is life only about getting rich & famous?

Is life only about getting rich?

Is life only about getting rich?

Humans have an unlimited number of wants, don’t they? Being rich and famous is one of the most common among them. But there is more to life than just earning lots of money.

A happy and loving family, good friends, a stable work – life balance, being passionate about one’s hobbies & interests and more – there’s so much that one can’t even imagine. Those whose only aim is to maximize their earnings without even thinking of ways to splurge them are never ever happy. They always dream of earning more and that more has no limit.

And therefore, it’s important to come out of your closed doors and see the world out there. Breathe out in the open air and start thinking of life in a way where money is just another part and not the ONLY part.

  1. Seems too difficult to follow in this materialistic world; but then that is what liberation is all about!

True Alok, this is quite difficult in today’s world. But then, life’s about so much which includes your social life, your passions and more. Sadly, all we think about is getting stuck in the rat race and making more money than our friends, relatives and what not!

Our lack of financial support during old age is one of the major reasons for trying to earn more and more. But, ultimately, the stress will break you if you do not take time off.

    Good post.

True Lata. And that’s why burnout is so common these days with people working 16-18 hours a day.

  3. Some people seem to think that success depends on how much you earn. But success is beyond the monetary, IMO. Money, of course, is important, but it is not the only thing worth living for, something that people seem to have forgotten.

Totally agree Sreesha! There’s family, friends, a good social life, following one’s passions and so much. But these days, it’s all about joining the rat race and jumping the bandwagon.

Thanks for stopping by. Welcome to my blog :).

  4. Totally agree. Money can’t buy happiness. But this little thing is so hard to practice as well.

  5. True, money isn’t the soul objective of life..It is a big part of it undoubtedly but not if you have no one to share the happiness of life with..

    • aseemrastogi2

True! As someone has rightly said, money can’t actually buy you happiness. Though many people do think it can.

true true Aseem… IF only people realised this… 🙂

    • aseemrastogi2

Yeah people need to start understand that becoming a good human being, having friends and so on and so forth is equally if not more important than making lots of money.

How I wish people thought like this 🙁

    Richa

Sadly these days becoming a good human being is not as important as making truckloads of money! :/
