There’s so much that goes behind writing a single blog post. How many of you have ever faced a scenario wherein there were a lot many topics in your mind but you weren’t sure what to begin with? Choosing a topic and then writing a post on the same covering all the points you had in mind requires a lot of dedication and commitment.

It’s all about concentrating religiously without getting distracted by anything around be it technology, people or any mundane day-to-day tasks. For posts where we need to research online before writing, it’s upto us not to fall into the temptation of surfing online and forgetting our primary goal. Once we complete a blog post, the comments, shares and the likes we get (or don’t) motivate us to write even more.

  1. Ah it’s best to keep a notebook or use an app like Evernote to keep ideas as they occur to us.

Guess, I really need to start using a Notebook. Normally I use those sticky notes on my laptop. But once I switch on my laptop, there’s a lot of distraction which gets in the way ;).

  2. You are so right! I usually keep a notebook or even a word doc open on my laptop to jot down thoughts that cone to me. But at the same time, a lot is there in the head. And there are distractions too. Great pick for a microblog 🙂

Thanks Parul :). Yeah I think the problem is so many distractions online and offline. It’s very important to switch off from those distractions come what may :P.

  3. My problem is concentration. I get distracted very easily. I keep switching between tabs. Yes, comments and feedback from friends is very motivating.

    Keep blogging!

I’ll write out all post ideas in a notebook. So I get to them in time, though I write the one I most feel like writing in the moment.

That’s really good Mel. I feel writing down various post ideas in a notebook is a lovely thing to do :).

  5. Hey! I often face same problem, the moment the mind drift, it gets difficult to concentrate.

Good to know there are others who can associate themselves to my situation ;).

My problem isn’t so much the writing as the ideas. I keep a file where I jot down all my thoughts – but also a notebook too. And on my Notes apps on my iPad and phones. In fact, I like to be able to jot down ideas whenever they come to me. Except that they often come to me when I’m driving or in the shower! So many lost posts, as a result! I have to be in the mood for a particular topic to be able to write about it – which is, I guess, why I like to have a lot of options available to me.

For many of us the, the ideas come in the most unlikely of places. And if we jot them down, it’s always easy to remember. But nonetheless if we aren’t able to jot them down, all is not lost, our mind is always thinking and something clicks when you least expect :). Thanks Sophie for stopping by. Welcome to my blog :D.

  7. It happens to all of us, right? Lots of ideas and yet nothing to write when its time to write. I do have a notebook to jot down ides. Also I keep note on my evernote app. 🙂

Ahh I am lazy to write down ideas but that’s a nice way to jot down Vinitha :). You know the funny part is sometimes, I have started to write down on a particular topic with a particular set of thoughts in mind. But as I reach the end, the resultant post is totally different to what I had initially imagined. Guess too many thought processes in the mind ;).
