“Ma. Look around this place. Everything seems to have turned white with the amount of snowfall we had last night.”

While this winter had been unusually warm, the snowfall had dumped more than a few feet of snow throughout the sleepy town of Budsworth.

As the sun rose the next morning, Rosaline and her mother stepped out for a walk to the nearby reserve. The trees which were usually lush green seemed totally lifeless without their leaves. Moreover, with the overgrowth of wild bushes and mushrooms, it seemed as though the area hadn’t been tended to since a long time.

True Marie, the environment and the surroundings around us are sadly falling apart because courtesy our faults. But sadly, we refuse to accept that fact and turn a blind eye towards it all the time.

  2. We have the same phenomenon here and it is kind of depressing. I keep going out, expecting to see … something green and surprised by all the trees STILL without their leaves and the nice neighborhoods with wildly overgrown vines (I suppose from fast-growing plants that don’t mind the strange weather?) This really spoke to me of the wild way things look around here, how unexpected it is, but also beautiful in a strange and wild way.

Gloomy mornings are generally quite depressing, aren’t they Anne? All of us like to rise up to a beautiful day filled with brightness and lots of happiness. Nonetheless such a mixture of bright and dark days is what makes our lives as interesting as always :).

  3. Shilpa Garg

Oh! This sure is a gloomy winter morning but the joys of sunny summer are just around the corner!!

    • aseemrastogi2

Yeah and finally the burning summer has started setting in slowly but surely ;).

  4. Winter has that effect on all of us. It was the first day of spring yesterday and it snowed all day long – totally gloomy. Btw, are they dead? I mean ‘not tended to for a long time’ gives a subtle impression that they are.

    • aseemrastogi2

Yeah its like life has been sucked out of them due to the fact that its chillingly cold.
