Why is it really important to have a well groomed face?

“Look at that guy. If only he had bothered to give some importance to shaving, he would have looked irresistible. Instead, it just looks like he has got up right now from his sleep.”

“He’s pretty good in terms of his qualifications, the work he has done as well as his ability to answer our interview questions. But I really hope he would have given some importance to his personal grooming as well.”

Some of us may have come across such situations wherein the importance of a well groomed face was quite relevant. Personal grooming includes wearing the right kind of clothes as well as ensuring that one’s appearance reflects his or her personality to the people around in the best way possible. And an important part of personal grooming includes facial grooming.

A well groomed face can take you places quite literally. From showing a positive vibe to those who are interviewing you for a job to impressing the woman you love, there are lots of benefits of ensuring that you shave regularly.

There are many who believe in shaving everyday as part of their daily routine. Then, there are those who prefer trimming rather than having a clean shaven face. Then, there are those who shave once in a few days. And finally there are those who don’t believe in shaving at all for months on end.

While not shaving may work in certain places like the movie industry where an unshaven look makes a guy look much more mature beyond his age, in a lot many professional careers, a clean shaven or well trimmed face is one of the important criteria for interviewers to evaluate a candidate. While shaving or not shaving may not be a criteria for rejecting a candidate, it surely is important to judge how serious a candidate is for the interview. For eg: If you say that you didn’t shave because you were lazy or didn’t have the time, it makes the interviewer wonder whether you are serious or not.

No one wants to see a beast quite literally who hasn’t bothered to shave or trim for days or weeks on end. Another point people associate with not shaving is the fact that it makes one look unhygienic and dirty. And therefore, shaving regularly plays quite a part in making you look attractive, confident and more importantly – CLEAN.

And finally, there are quite a few uncomfortable situations in which unshaven men may often find themselves in like their girlfriends refusing to kiss them 😛 or even food getting stuck in their beards or mustache’s ;).  Moreover, I have personally felt the itchiness if I didn’t shave for a day or two particularly during the summer months.

While people have their opinions on shaving, not shaving and trimming, all of us would surely agree with the fact that facial grooming is a very important aspect of our lives and plays a key role in reflecting our personality to the world.
