Cast: Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor, Abhay Deol

Director: Aanand Rai

Producer: Krishika Lulla

Music: A.R.Rahman

Plot: Kundan (Dhanush) is a simple guy who lives in Banaras and is madly in love with Zoya (Sonam Kapoor). They lose themselves into each other during their school times. But Zoya’s parents get to know about it and send her to Delhi for further studies. There she meets Abhay Deol and falls for him instantly. She decides to marry him and with the help of Dhanush, she convinces her dad to get her married to Abhay Deol. But wait.. there’s a twist. Abhay fakes his name as Akram while his real name is Jasjeet. He does this so that Zoya doesn’t have a problem marrying him. But her parents eventually find that out and beat him up to death. Strange, right? Nevermind, there are more stranger things in the movie and I suggest you don’t waste your time and money watching it!

Acting-wise: Dhanush does a great job and proves his potential. His Hindi is a bit shaky but he somehow manages and pulls it off. Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor also perform convincingly though Sonam needs a few lessons to tighten up.

Technical view: The music in the movie is soothing and good to listen to. The dialogues are cheesy, pathetic and very very stale. The direction is good enough but the plot of the movie with those whacky twists and turns is capable of boring you to death.

Rating: 1.5/5

Odd…the movie reminded me of r2020….then again most three way romances are the same…..
The movie fails because there aren’t enough scenes or scenes strong enough to depict the heroes love…and the sacrifice in the end loses its punch…..i would give 2/5 mainly for dhanush and swara bhaskar’s acting…..abhay deol has a good role but his screen presence is not enough to evoke sympathy to him also…..in the end, we feel sorry for ourselves at the end of the movie

      Hey Raghunath,

Awesome to find you back on my blog after a long hiatus :). Looks like you still remember Revolution 2020 even after such a long time :P. Haha but yeah love triangles are almost always like that. Didn’t know the movie is so bad. Though I did hear that Dhanush is quite awesome as Kundan.

Glad to be back 🙂 ….I have been following your blog….but i have got offline from all the sites due to my work situation…i had to comment here because, it did remind me a lot of r2020…dhanush is a great actor and has improved in leaps and bounds from his first movie…again in this one..his acting is one of the high points….sonam comes and goes as always….i felt she did not do justice to her role…..her acting was again meh…..the reason r2020 was such a success was everyone connected with gopal and his passion for the girl was explored in depth(may be because it was a book…then again titanic was a movie and we admired jack for his sacrifice)…but i did not really think kundan deserved zoya any more than jasjeet….and kundan becoming a political rival big enough for the leader of the opposition is a little over the top…..so,the reason for my rating….

Dhanush’s first movie, you mean the first movie in Tamil, right? I mean because this is his first in Hindi. Sonam is a style diva. In terms of acting, still lots to learn I guess. Hmm, I guess maybe they didn’t think from a very logical point of view. Guess, it could have been driven by market dynamics or TRPs to ensure that Kundan gets Zoya and everyone stays happy at the end. Someone has to be the main hero, right? 😛 But yeah guess that’s how movies come about. Nice to know you have been following my blog though. I still remember the days of R2020, the comments which kept coming in for that review :D.

I have hosted my blog on the WordPress domain itself. As for hosting providers, I think Hostgator or GoDaddy would be quite good enough.
