Starring: Preity Zinta, Rhehan Malliek, Isabelle Adjani
Director: Prem Raj
Plot: Ishkq (Preity Zinta) and Akash (Rhehan Malliek) are two single individuals who fear commitment and long-term relationships as they think they always end in a break-up. They meet in a train to Paris for the first time and their interest in each other kicks off then and there! They decide to enjoy the nightlife of Paris together without sharing personal details and decide to never meet again after this night. Events take a toll and they start developing feelings for each other. They meet again for Akash’s friend’s wedding and Akash proposes her. Ishkq is scared to say yes because of her ‘akelapan issues’ and then Akash tries to change her perceptions. That’s the way the movie goes about.
Technical view: The movie is predictable, boring and over-romantic. Dialogues are cheesy though some of them can make you laugh. The direction when they show the amazing locations in Paris is laudable. Otherwise, there is nothing really interesting or ‘new’ happening through the flick. Wish it would’ve had some twists or turns to make it interesting and watchable. The music is simply average and there’s not one song which is catchy. Salman Khan plays a cameo for a Punjabi song which got a few cheers from the crowd.
Acting-wise: Preity Zinta has probably forgot how to act and needs to brush up her acting skills if she wants to continue doing movies. Rhehan’s performance was average for a newcomer and he could do nothing as the character he played was meant to be just ‘cute’. Teenage girls would be going gaga over him.
The last word: Stale comeback for the beautiful Preity Zinta. If you’ve got nothing to do and you plan to watch this movie instead, I would still suggest you to think twice! Ishkq In Paris gets no Ishq from the crowd!
